About Martin Williamson
His Development:
Martin Williamson, was born in 1965 in Melton Mowbray, England.
After leaving school, Martin did his Foundation year at Hounslow Borough of Art & design and his Degree in Art and Design at Sir John Cass School of Art. He has recently been doing painting courses at West Dean School of Arts. Martin went on to do several courses under the instruction of Tom Benjamin NEAC, who has helped him tremendously in his development as a Landscape Artist.
His Method:
His technique and style have naturally evolved over the years, however, the paint medium that he uses to convey his perception of the subject, is oils on canvas. His current method of producing an art piece involves the initial process of sketching the subject, plein-air painting and then if necessary adding finishing touches to the painting in the studio.
His Inspiration:
His faith hugely motivates and inspires him as he endeavours to capture the magnificence of the world around us. He likes to capture the interaction and intensity of light and colour, that are a prevalent characteristic of his work; influences stemming from years of living in the Middle East and Africa as a child.
